TechTalk Roundtable

Music Media

Hello Everyone!

My topic will be on Music Media.
Here are a few pointers that I will discuss or go over
during my presentation/briefing:

  • difference between old music media and new music media
    • regular CD's vs. new CD's
    • replacement of the CD with flash drives and/or improved disks
    • mp3 players
  • fan sites becomes a social networking foreground for artist
    • virtual sites replacing 2-dimension sites so fans
    • sharing their music files and growing a ntwk of friends worldwide

I plan to (hopefully) have some sample props to display for the class. If not,
I will try to provide the most relevant visuals for the audience (the class)
to understand my presentation as I talk about it. Since I chose "creative" from the term
project guild lines, I will try my best to make it as enlightening and interesting as possible.

I liked your presentation because I love music and I never realized that there could be social networking sites dedicated to music lovers.

Hello Tiesha,
I thought your presentation on social networking and music was really interesting. It was interesting to see the sites that allow aspiring, as well as established artists network with one another, as well as expose their work to the public. Furthermore, sites such as Futureproducers.com and iStandardProducers.com, was interesting to learn about, because these sites provide instrumentals for artists. Last.FM.com was also interesting to learn about because they provide royalties to artists.

tiezha, your presentation was amazin. i should've said somethin' to you but i had bad breath that morning. j/p. anywho, um i thought i was alone on presentin on the same topic twice but i see that you did that too (music media). pretty cool cuz you made the 2nd one just as nice as the first one. it sounds like you are very passionate about music and you should really post more things about it on your blog, like for example some of your work. *jus an idea* i hope i can achieve the same success as you on my 2nd presentation. :)

It is a nice presentation. It is very long time I didn’t touch my cassette player. The definition of music is good and when we look ourselves from 1990 to 2007, we change our life style of using music from Cassettes to iTune. Specially, after the web 2.0 lot of music industries and music lovers merge with social networking. For example: Elbo, Last.Fm. But this is a first time I know these web sites. My concern is music and social networkings are good idea.

Hey Ti,

I really enjoyed your presentation. I must say that overall you explained and exposed so many things about the music industry which I was previously oblivious to. The freelance producer/beats website was extermely cool. A great venue to get people noticed. One particularily cool thing was Young Buck's ad on one of the pages, almost like he's looking for a crew after G-Unit dumped him. Overall I loved the colors and art you used in your presentation. Great job!!!

the presentation was interesting since I got to learn more about music sites that included social networking into them. Thanks for introducting me to more sites that music fans can go to share common interest and their music. It always great to hear success stories of how people get discover from sites like these and myspace.
